Jal Jeevan Mission, a Government of India initiative under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, aims to ensure access to piped water for every household in India. The mission’s goal is to provide safe and adequate water to all households in rural India through individual household tap connections by 2024. With the recent announcement at the Union Budget 2021, under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the government has embarked to cover nearly 4378 urban local bodies with a spend of INR 2.87 lakh crore.
