AMRUT 2.0, an India Government initiative, aims to provide 100% water supply coverage to all households in approximately 4,700 urban locations by providing around 2.68 crore tap connections. The initiative also looks to establish 100% coverage of sewerage and septage in 500 AMRUT cities by providing around 2.64 crore sewer or septage connections, benefiting more than 10.5 crore people in urban areas. One of the main objectives of the AMRUT 2.0 is to provide a 24 hour, 7 day a week water supply with a drink from the tap facility in 500 AMRUT cities.
