Join Steve Tissier, P.E., Bridge and Structural Engineer with American Consulting Professionals, LLC as he walks us through a design build project of a four span high level highway flyover. The concept plans that were provided for the bid process had the bridge as a four span steel I-Girder bridge with end spans of 265’ and interior spans of 230’. OpenBridge Modeler was used to optimize the span configuration during the preliminary geometry layout. We were able to reduce one of the interior steel span lengths by 30’ and reduce the end span lengths by 90’ and 50’ each, which allowed us to use more economical prestressed concrete girders as opposed to steel girders.
In this webinar, you will learn about:
- The process used to optimize span configurations
- Checking minimum and maximum overhangs of concrete girder spans
- Managing project changes such as roadway alignment & profile
- Checking minimum vertical clearances
- Identifying clashes between foundations and underground utilities
- Reporting available during preliminary design
List of bridge geometry reports generated
- Input echo report - for doing the QC of a model
- Quantities Report – for getting preliminary quantities and cost estimates
- Beam Report- for getting girder lengths, beam grades, haunch heights and more
OpenBridge Test Drive
Webinar participants automatically get an opportunity to join the OpenBridge Test Drive to learn 3D skills and model a 3D bridge using OpenBridge. Additionally, you get access to a trial license of OpenBridge. The best part - you are not alone. While the test drive will focus on preliminary geometry layout & span optimization, Virtuosity experts will help you apply 3D skills to your bridge project to improve and solve your daily challenges. Learn more about OpenBridge Test Drive Program.
Who does it benefit?
Bridge engineers, CAD Designers, and anyone else who is involved in optioneering, preliminary design, PD&E studies, etc.Watch OnDemand Webinar
