Join Sandeepa Gunasekara, Senior Civil/Drainage engineer at Jacobs, Australia as he discusses his experience working on the drainage design for a  railway line in Australia. The project will deliver new stations, as well as a number of intersection upgrades,

When it came to drainage design development, the project had several challenges, and after conducting research, Jacobs choose to use OpenRoads Designer for the project.   Having a one application for comprehensive inbuilt design and simulation saved considerable time. In the past similar projects required back and forth between multiple software programs to get the hydraulics simulations done. After few experiments and proper calibration of the software, they modeled drainage systems from ORD’s detailed photo types to steady state simulations to unsteady state simulations to volumetric calculations in one application.

OpenRoads Designers' capabilities helped Jacobs achieve their goals in terms of quality and deadlines, as the well detailed 3D drainage models helped to accelerate the approvals process. By producing realistic visualizations, they  helped their clients make informed decisions throughout the project., with no extra fees, software, or specialists required.

In this webinar, we will showcase:

  • How having a complete tool set to perform 3D modelling, steady/unsteady state simulations, CAD related procedures, asset management and integrated BIM assisted to reduce design time with a complete toolset in one application.
  • How OpenRoads' model-centric approach makes it easy to work with different data types, disciplines, and distributed teams.
  • How seamless 3D modelling capabilities and realistic visualizations helped clients make informed decisions throughout the project.
