GeoStudio offers a range of numerical analysis tools for simulating conditions above and below the ground surface. GeoStudio can be used to model natural soil and rock slopes, groundwater flow systems for geotechnical applications, excavations and open pit mines, dewatering systems, earthen dams and levees, reinforced earth structures, tailings storage facilities, and more.

On this webinar you will learn about,

-Quick introduction about GeoStudio and the included packages

-Review typical GeoStudio applications and features available for analyzing the performance of

  • Dams
  • Levees
  • Embankment
  • Tailings Storage Facilities

Farzin

Farzin Hamidi

Geotechnical Engineer

“Farzin has about 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience in field work, laboratory (rock/soil) testing, site investigation, and numerical modeling to examine slope/tunnel stability. Since joining Seequent in August 2021, Farzin has gained experience in GeoStudio technical support. He is an expert in geotechnical site investigations and stability analysis and worked in some underground/open pit mines and infrastructure projects such as Dawson and Grosvenor Mine, Inland Rail (G2K), Cross River Rail-Tunnel Station Development (TSD), Kingsford Smith Drive (KSD) upgrade, Burdekin falls dam and Queen’s Wharf. He received his Ph.D. at Geotechnical Engineering Centre (GEC), University of Queensland. He has a strong technical background in rock mechanics, in-situ stress measurement, rock/fluid interactions, laboratory and in-situ characterization of rocks and soils, rock failure control by support design, instrumentation, and monitoring for surface and underground excavations.”
