Numerical Analysis and Analytical Calculations of 3D Effects on Pullout Capacity of Anchors Blocks: Case Study in Dubai, United Arab Emirates |
OnDemand
In this webinar, we discuss on a project in Dubai where sheet pile wall tie backed to anchor block was designed to retain compacted fill and account for future excavation considering 3D effect in anchor blocks. Anchor blocks were analyzed considering 3D effects which resulted in increased pullout resistance compared to assuming it as plane-strain problem.
Green Line Metro - Design of Underground Metro Stations, Middle East | OnDemand
The webinar provides an overview on how to perform 2D FEM analyses of underground metro station excavations with complex phases, focusing in particular on:
- Interaction with the urban environment in presence of groundwater;
- The use of different support typologies available in the program, in order to represent as best as possible the real support systems;
- The output generation to be managed for structural verifications of each element;
- The global stability analysis of the excavations
Deep Excavation & Shoring Support: Case Study in Bahrain | OnDemand
Manual & 2D LEM/FEM methods are cool, easy, and super-fast. But the main two questions about these methods would be; are they always applicable? And if yes, are they always economical?
This case study for a real-life project in Bahrain is utilized to answer these questions with the help of the 3D FEM (using PLAXIS 3D).
